Zehra Akbar is a Corporate Immigration Lawyer and is called to the Bar both in Ontario and British Columbia. She has over 6 years of experience in the field immigration. Her work in immigration has varied from working with vulnerable refugees to working with fortune 500 companies.
She was an active volunteer with lifeline Syria during the Syrian refugee crisis and helped sponsor over 10 Syrian refugees. In addition, she was a volunteer with United Nations – Toronto Chapter and helped facilitate programs to bring awareness to human rights issues around the world. Currently she is a volunteer as an immigration lawyer with Jafri Islamic Center to help international students with their immigration needs while studying in Canada.
Zehra has a strong passion for refugee work and human rights work. She is excited to bring her expertise and passion to the OBAT team. Zehra lives in Toronto and is a mother to two little boys.
