Dr. Haissam Dahan is a clinician scientist. He holds a D.M.D, an M.Sc and a Ph.D in dental science from McGill University. He also completed a clinical fellowship in orofacial management from the Massachusetts General Hospital. His main research is centered on painful comorbidities found in people with temporomandibular disorders. His research has been published in the Journal of Dental Education and the Journal of Oral and Facial Pain and Headache. He has lectured at McGill University, Tufts University and Harvard University. He is currently a Faculty Lecturer at the Montreal General Hospital. He has a private dental practice in Ottawa, Canada, limited to the treatment of temporomandibular disorder and sleep apnea.
Dr. Dahan is passionate in helping in disadvantaged and forgotten groups of people. He believes in the power of education and health in changing people’s lives. He initiated a free-dental service program in displaced population camps in Bangladesh. He also spearheads a scholarship program in Ottawa to help students studying Science in University or College. Dr. Dahan started a mentorship program in Ottawa that links University students with professionals in the community. He lives in Ottawa with his wife and three children.
